As mentioned this previous post about what I expect in year 2011, I said I would graduate and I made it! The convocation ceremony is held today, it has been a day of joy with friends and family. Mortar board throwing session ensured:

I have met many new friends and lecturers throughout these years, all those funny, annoying, suffering and crazy moments are great additions to my life. I think I should say thanks all the lecturers I met especially:
- Mr. Kuek – he is a really good in teaching, we can quickly grasp the concepts during his class although somehow I still manage to screw up finals and assignments.
- Dr. Lem – he always try to make his mathematics classes less boring and sometimes I feel guilty that I still get wrong answers with formulae provided.
- Mr. Leong – he is one of the most approachable lecturers.
- Mr. Mok – no one from our class would forget the assignment Computer Organization and Architecture, still the thickest assignment report that I have ever submitted.
- Ms. Christina – a very friendly and helpful tutor even though the course she taught is a non-core in our syllabus.
- Mr. See – he is from another faculty and had to travel between two campuses for students taking final year projects under his supervision, I am one of them.
The three years I spent in UTAR has been a great chapter in my life and I have earned decent amount of skills and knowledge to kick start my career. In fact, I have already got a job before the end of the final trimester and have been working as a programmer . One good thing about studying computer engineering is that you have both software and hardware skills at your disposal. While I have interest in both, I seem to do better with codes than circuits, thus I have chosen the software side.
With pride (and a student loan to pay), I am now officially graduated with a Bachelor in Information Technology (Hons) Computer Engineering. This could be my last graduation as postgraduate study is currently not quite viable to me due to personal reasons but I will keep my options open. I guess it is time to get going, a whole new chapter of life awaits!
